Carnival!

At our last meeting, we discussed using a carnival theme/approach to staging the performances.  We’re going to use all three galleries in the Mendel, and we’re also going to set up intimate spaces (like the conservatory, smaller gallery rooms, etc.) where performances will take place. I hope most of you can do a couple performances and get maximum exposure at the event:
**One performance in one of the larger galleries
**Performances in some of the intimate gathering spaces (like the conservatory)

This will be appropriate for musicians and some authors. Depending on your performance, we will either quiet the crowd and draw attention to a short performance (around 5 minutes), OR where appropriate, we’ll let the performance unfold as people are milling around.  We'll set up the musicians as traveling minstrels and/or buskers.

So as you're conspiring on the details for your performances, start thinking about how the carnival theme can be carried through: dress, costumes, set design?  Let me know your thoughts!
