Cardboard Boxes

Thanks to a great brainstorming session with Andrei (whose film will draw on similar themes at the event), we’re going to use cardboard boxes to construct an imaginary world for our audience.  Let me explain.

Imagine a child’s world, where cardboard boxes can be transformed into houses and castles and such.  Similarly, we’re going to use large cardboard boxes to construct the world of our carnival.  We’ll use cardboard boxes to construct an intimate performance space in a smaller gallery room (those transition rooms between the larger galleries).  We’ll use playful, childlike cardboard signs throughout the galleries to give the audience directions, etc.

So collect your boxes--anyone have a line on cardboard boxes?
