Yann Martel needs YOUR input at lugo

We're extremely honored to have Yann Martel participating in lugo, author of the Mann Booker Prize winning novel Life of Pi. Right now Yann has a project called "What is Stephen Harper Reading?"  Let him tell you about it:

"For as long as Stephen Harper is Prime Minister of Canada, I vow to send him every two weeks, mailed on a Monday, a book that has been known to expand stillness. That book will be inscribed and will be accompanied by a letter I will have written. I will faithfully report on every new book, every inscription, every letter, and any response I might get from the Prime Minister, on this website.”

Now that you know what Yann has been up to, check out his ideas for lugo and HOW YOU CAN PARTICIPATE:

"Okay, now Lugo. What I propose to do is write my next letter to the Prime Minister in real time during Lugo. I'd write my letter and invite people to suggest books I might send the Prime Minister. Lugo is on the 16th and the next letter and book have to be in Ottawa the following Monday or so, so the timing is perfect.

What I'd need then is a computer, printer and desk and some way of projecting what's on my screen onto a wall. I can supply the computer, my Sony Vaio laptop, and a printer.

I don't know where you'd want me to be at the Mendel. I thought I'd do a two, three maybe four half hour stints.

Does that sound good?

Yann"
